about Nabil Ebraheim
For more than 17 years, Dr. Nabil Ebraheim has directed the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery as a chairman and professor at the University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC), a teaching hospital in Ohio. His responsibilities include guiding the resident and fellowship programs, supervising the research of senior medical students, and organizing monthly conferences at the school. Dr. Nabil Ebraheim has led UTMC to earn honors as one of the nation’s top departments of orthopaedic surgery.
During the course of his career, Dr. Nabil Ebraheim has developed multiple innovative techniques in the orthopaedic field. He pioneered the use of titanium plates in MRI tests, and he created new techniques for ankle and hip fixation. In addition to these achievements, he has garnered such recognitions as the 2015 Patient’s Choice and the 2015 Castle Connolly America’s Top Doctor awards.
Dr. Nabil Ebraheim belongs to the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the AO International Association, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). In 2016, he presented a co-authored paper on minimally invasive approaches to distal fibular fractures at the AAOS Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida.
